Marie Popall (*Berlin, she/her) ist Darstellende Künstlerin und Sprecherin. In ihrer Praxis, die sich auf Bewegung, Text und Stimme konzentriert, erforscht sie den Körper als Resonanzraum für politische und intime Erfahrungen. Marie studierte an der Hochschule der Künste Bern im Bachelor Theater und im Master Expanded Theatre. Von 2018-2020 spielte sie im Ensemble des Konzert Theater Bern. In der Kollaboration Moschini/Popall prämierte sie die abendfüllende Arbeit Soft Tissue (2019) gefolgt von ihrer zweiten Zusammenarbeit When mama was moth, I took bulb form (2021). Gemeinsam mit Autorin und Dj Saskia Winkelmann entwickelte sie die Performance HUNDSKÖPFIGE (2024). Marie koproduziert und arbeitet regelmässig mit den Spielstätten Dampfzentrale Bern, Fabriktheater Rote Fabrik Zürich, sowie Roxy Theater Birsfelden zusammen. Ihre Arbeiten touren schweizweit und waren u.a. am Festival Sevèlin de Printemps in Lausanne, am FRESH Festival Lugano und am Theater Neumarkt zu sehen. Sie war Teil des Programmes Danse et Dramaturgie von Prohevetia, eingeladen zum Premio-Nachwuchswettberwerb und als Stipendiatin am Internationalen Forum des Berliner Theatertreffens 2025. Derzeit ist sie u.a. am Rechercheprojekt Choréopolice/Chorépolitique von danced stances (Genf) beteiligt und probt mit dem niederländischen Künstler Dries Verhoeven für die Biennale di Venezia 2026.

Drawing on a practice centered on movement, text and voice, she explores the body as a resonating space for political and intimate experiences. Marie studied theater at Bern University of the Arts, earning a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in expanded theater. From 2018 to 2020, she was part of the theatre ensemble at Konzert Theater Bern. In the collaboration Moschini/Popall, she premiered the full-length work Soft Tissue (2019), followed by When mama was moth, I took bulb form (2021). Together with author and DJ Saskia Winkelmann, she developed the performance HUNDSKÖPFIGE (2024). Marie co-produces and works regularly with the venues Dampfzentrale Bern, Fabriktheater Rote Fabrik Zurich, and Roxy Theater Birsfelden. Her works tour throughout Switzerland and have been shown at the Sevèlin de Printemps Festival in Lausanne, the FRESH Festival Lugano, and the Theater Neumarkt Zürich, among others. She was part of Prohevetia's Danse et Dramaturgie program, invited to the PREMIO competition for young talent, and awarded a scholarship to the International Forum at the Berlin Theatertreffen 2025. She is currently involved in the research project Choréopolice/Chorépolitique by danced stances (Geneva) and is rehearsing with Dutch artist Dries Verhoeven for the Biennale di Venezia 2026.
